Scaling Green Methanol: From Local Potentials to Global Market Deployment
Green methanol has great potential for future use in Defossilizing industry and shipping sectors. However, on the path from initial demonstration projects to scaled, globally available production, several challenges emerge, including costs and demand activation. For the implementation of scaled projects, optimal locations for low production costs and CO2 availability, as well as securing methanol offtake in combination with product certification, are crucial.
In this web expert session, we will examine the current and most relevant aspects in the context of the market launch, activation and ramp-up of green methanol. A particular focus will be on global potential and import strategies, as well as the regulatory frameworks that can accelerate or hinder market ramp-up.
The Expert Web Session is aimed at national and international stakeholders (Europe, Africa, South America, Caribbean) from different sectors e.g. industry and shipping, project developers and operators of green methanol plants, technology providers (electrolyzers, CO2 utilization processes, methanol processes), investors, financiers, as well as energy suppliers, logistics and transport companies with PtX interests.
In our sessions you will learn about current and future markets of green methanol, where the greatest potential lies, project design, costs, and opportunities, and which sustainability, regulations, and mechanisms are important for implementing scaled projects, and where investments are economically viable.
