RICOSO combines Rapid Control Prototyping (RCP), Power Hardware-in-the-Loop (P-HiL), and automated testing in a unified development platform. This enables teams to develop control algorithms faster, validate them under realistic conditions, and test them systematically—without unnecessary system changes.
Quickly from concept to validated control algorithm
In RCP mode, new control algorithms for inverters can be implemented directly on the internal processing unit and tested under realistic conditions. Modeling, programming, monitoring, and control all take place within an integrated development environment. This ensures rapid iterations, high flexibility, and a smooth transition from simulation to laboratory or field validation.
Seamless transition to power testing
Without any modifications, an external real-time computer can be connected, and the system can be switched to P-HiL operation. This allows complex, high-precision models to be emulated and coupled with real components via RICOSO as a power interface. Inverters and energy systems can thus be tested under real power flows—from the early concept phase through to hardware-in-the-loop validation.
Automated Testing with Objective Evaluation
In addition, RICOSO functions as an intelligent test system with automated evaluation. Standardized test sequences can be defined, executed in a reproducible manner, and analyzed automatically—from functional tests to grid codes to dynamic fault scenarios. Measurement data, parameters, and pass/fail criteria are processed and documented directly.
RICOSO combines RCP flexibility, realistic P-HiL emulations, and automated test evaluation into a comprehensive hybrid solution for the development, validation, and characterization of modern inverters.
